A typical day in the life of a Kitchen Porter:
Maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards in all areas of the kitchen.
Follow daily and weekly cleaning schedules as set by the Head Chef.
Clean and maintain kitchen utensils, equipment, crockery, and cookware to a high standard.
Use cleaning chemicals and personal protective equipment (PPE) safely and in accordance with guidelines.
Promptly report any equipment faults or maintenance issues to the Head Chef. Adhere to all company policies and procedures, including food hygiene and health & safety regulations.
Support the wider team by assisting in other departments during busy periods, as required.
Demonstrate flexibility and a positive approach to teamwork and changing business needs.
What we are looking for:
Previous experience in a similar role is desirable but not essential.
Good understanding of kitchen hygiene and cleanliness standards.
Solid understanding of health and safety practices, including COSHH.
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Strong attention to detail.
A team player with a flexible and positive attitude.
Willingness to learn and follow instructions.
Willingness to work varied shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
