Hours : 16 per week

A typical day in the life of a Kitchen Porter:

  • Maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards in all areas of the kitchen.

  • Follow daily and weekly cleaning schedules as set by the Head Chef.

  • Clean and maintain kitchen utensils, equipment, crockery, and cookware to a high standard.

  • Use cleaning chemicals and personal protective equipment (PPE) safely and in accordance with guidelines.

  • Promptly report any equipment faults or maintenance issues to the Head Chef. Adhere to all company policies and procedures, including food hygiene and health & safety regulations.

  • Support the wider team by assisting in other departments during busy periods, as required.

  • Demonstrate flexibility and a positive approach to teamwork and changing business needs.

What we are looking for:

  • Previous experience in a similar role is desirable but not essential.

  • Good understanding of kitchen hygiene and cleanliness standards.

  • Solid understanding of health and safety practices, including COSHH.

  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

  • Strong attention to detail.

  • A team player with a flexible and positive attitude.

  • Willingness to learn and follow instructions.

  • Willingness to work varied shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
