A typical day in the life of a Hotel Deputy Manager:
Oversee the daily running of the hotel, ensuring all departments are operating smoothly and efficiently.
Support department managers across Front of House, Housekeeping, Food & Beverage, Spa and Leisure, and Maintenance.
Lead by example in delivering an outstanding guest experience with a focus on hospitality, service, and satisfaction.
Inspire and motivate the team to perform to their best, promoting a culture of teamwork and positivity.
Support with the recruitment, induction, and development of hotel team members.
Conduct regular 1:1s, team meetings, and training sessions to ensure consistent standards and employee engagement.
Address any performance issues proactively and fairly.
Act as the main point of contact for guest feedback and complaints, resolving issues promptly and professionally.
Monitor online reviews and guest feedback to identify areas for improvement and celebrate team success.
Support the Hotel Manager in driving revenue and managing costs to meet financial targets.
Assist with stock control, rota planning, and other cost-related controls to ensure profitability.
Identify and recommend opportunities for increased efficiency and upselling.
Ensure all company policies, procedures, and standards are adhered to.
Maintain high levels of health and safety, hygiene, and security across the hotel.
Support with audits, risk assessments, and legislative compliance.
What we are looking for:
Previous experience in a leadership or supervisory role within a hotel or hospitality setting.
Strong understanding of hotel operations, including front office, F&B, housekeeping, and leisure.
Excellent people leadership skills with a natural ability to coach, support, and inspire teams.
Passionate about guest service with a hands-on approach.
Commercially aware with experience in managing rotas, budgets, and KPIs. Excellent communication, organisation, and problem-solving abilities.
Calm under pressure and solutions-focused.
Flexibility to work a variety of shifts, including weekends and evenings.
It would be desirable if you had a Hospitality or business-related qualification, and advantageous if you have First Aid at Work and Health & Safety certifications.
