Our People

At Bannatyne, we truly value our people, and they love being part of our team. But don’t just take our word for it—hear it from them!

  • Working at Bannatyne for nearly ten years has been an incredibly rewarding journey. From the very beginning, I knew this was a place where I could grow not just professionally, but personally as well. One of the most fulfilling aspects of my time here has been the relationships I’ve built with my colleagues. These connections have created an environment where collaboration, support, and mutual respect thrive. Having a team that values open communication and teamwork makes every challenge easier to tackle and every success even more meaningful.Early in my career, I was fortunate to have an outstanding mentor who played a pivotal role in my development. Their guidance helped shape my technical skills and managerial approach, laying the foundation for the way I work today. The mentorship I received wasn’t just about learning processes or improving efficiency, it was about developing confidence, leadership, and a problem solving mindset that I still rely on. That kind of investment in personal growth is what makes this company stand out.Beyond the mentorship and relationships, what keeps me engaged is the company’s culture of continuous improvement. I appreciate the emphasis on innovation, learning, and evolving with the industry. No matter how long you’ve been here, there’s always an opportunity to take on new challenges, refine your skills, and contribute to meaningful projects. It’s that dynamic nature that keeps the work exciting and fulfilling.Looking back on the last decade, I feel incredibly grateful to be part of an organisation that prioritises both people and progress. The combination of a supportive work culture, opportunities for professional development, and strong leadership has made this an ideal place for me to thrive. I’m excited to continue contributing to our shared success and to see what the future holds for both myself and the company.

    Bannatyne - Head Office

  • I began my journey with Bannatyne in 2015 as a Food & Beverage team member at the Darlington Hotel. The 0-hour role suited me perfectly as a student, and I loved being part of a friendly team with great opportunities like menu tasting, wine tasting, and cocktail making. After finishing my degree, I applied for a full-time role in the Spa Contact Centre at Head Office. Despite having no previous call centre experience, Bannatyne took a chance on me. I joined in 2017, completed a Level 3 Business Admin course, and eventually became the Contact Centre Trainer inducting new starters, creating system guides, and helping others grow in confidence. I also completed a train-the-trainer course, which fuelled my passion for supporting others' development. In 2023, I took the next step in my career and joined the People team as a Learning & Development Administrator. I'm now completing a Level 3 Content Creator apprenticeship, developing in-house e-learning, creating content to support retention and employment, and helping implement a new Learning Management System with fantastic guidance from my manager, Adam Dobinson. This apprenticeship has opened so many doors—from learning SEO, branding, and content writing, to using professional cameras, Photoshop, and working cross-departmentally with marketing and web teams. I’m loving the creativity and continued learning. I’d recommend apprenticeships to anyone whatever your age or skill level—they’re an amazing way to push yourself, grow, and build a new career path.

  • My journey started 24 years ago as a part time position within the membercare team whilst I completed my studies. This quickly developed into a reception position and on completion of my external studies moved to trial a retention position linking my reception knowledge and passion for fitness ensuring all members received a gym touch point within the first week of membership. My next steps moved to further enhance my fitness knowledge with lifetime training allowing me to become a permanent fitness team member and class instructor making a difference for people everyday. While my passion for fitness remained strong, opportunities became available to manage the health & safety elements of the club whilst also supporting daily operations from member-care, fitness, front of house and plant room. During this role memberships became more significant and interesting with opportunities to become a sales manager and really use all the knowledge I had acquired to help start and support fitness journeys, this was the final piece in the jigsaw to allow the next steps to become a general manger with an array of internal courses to support my development and further external Level 5 IRLM in management to really reinforce my knowledge but also provide the tools to help develop personally and also the people around me, next stop who knows!

  • I began my journey with Bannatyne’s nearly 20 years ago after applying for a Sales and Marketing position at the newly built Folkestone club. At the time, I had no direct sales or marketing experience, just a background in managing people, but Bannatyne’s saw potential in me.Starting as Sales and Marketing Manager in Folkestone, I moved to Ashford when Bannatyne’s acquired 26 new sites. My role expanded, and I became Cluster Sales and Marketing Manager for the Southeast.  I gained valuable experience and was able to step into the General Manager role in Folkestone, before again moving to a much bigger site in Ashford.I spent six months managing both clubs as a Cluster GM, pushing my leadership skills. After COVID hit, a regional opportunity became available, and after a successful interview process, I became the Regional Operations Manager for the Southeast — my current role. Since then, my region has expanded, and I’ve been fortunate to promote many team members into higher roles. I’m grateful for the opportunities Bannatyne’s has given me and for the chance to recognise great people and elevate their careers. Over the years I have made friends for life that are some of my favourite people! Throughout the years I have completed various training courses, development days and now host these for the new wave of future leaders.Looking back, I’m proud of my journey and my advice to anyone starting here: embrace every challenge, take the opportunities available and make your mark!

  • I started my career with Bannatynes Health Club and Spa as a Spa Therapist at the Solihull branch in 2016. During my time there, I expanded my skills to include treatments such as hot wax, lava shell, and bamboo massage. I was also enrolled in a Spa Manager Course to further my professional development.Following this, I was promoted to Senior Spa Therapist at Wildmoor Spa, and subsequently progressed to the roles of Assistant Spa Manager and then Spa Manager. Recently, I completed three weeks of intensive training, including a trip to London, to become an Elemis Ambassador. In this role, I now provide training on our exceptional Elemis treatments across the region.I have recently been given the opportunity to take on a secondment role as Cluster Manager, where I will oversee five sites across the UK and Ireland. Bannatynes has provided me with outstanding opportunities for growth and development, and I believe it is an excellent company for career progression.
